G'day all,
Thought I would share a couple of Junipers which I have been working on.
The first is a small needle Juniper which I found by pure chance,

the second is Chinensis I believe

I Think this is chinensis also, has some promise I hope.

enjoy
Happy to hear any comments , Thanks .

regards Craig..

I think the first one could be wired into nicer.

The second one is dope but could lose some jin length. Especially the curly q.

And the 3rd could also use a jin shortening....
And I think without the 2 low branches, it would portray a stronger image...
And I'd like to see more trunk.

Good stuff!

Source, you probably right on with #1 as it hasn't really been wired properly yet, just letting it gain heath which it has now.

haha, curly q .It just sorta found it's way into the tree, yep it'll b gone/altered before too long.

Too true, I left jins everywhere at the start and haven't cut any off yet. Love the way you think! Thanks!!

Nice trees mate, really diggin' the semi cascade in the first post though I'd ditch the jins poking out of the lower foliage

I like these jins a lot...

Looks like a dude posing for a pic after a good surf run.

that last one is pretty good - develop some pads, lime the deadwood after it dries, and it'll be a pretty nice tree.

Jeremy, I've been trying to take the remove less option these days.Correcting mistakes often made in my early days of removing Way too much foliage or branches,
keeping them for both the health of the Tree and for either use or removal later on. No problem removing/shortening as suggested in the coming years.

thanks Gents :)

G'day B Nuts!

I've been working towards getting this Raft Juniper in order for the past 2 years.
It was so overgrown with Roots and moss/weeds but slowly the raft part is being exposed.

cheers, hope it's a great weekend for ya'll,

Looks very much like you are gaining on the tree's attempt to decline. Very nice.

Thankyou @Vance Wood ,

It was quite yellow when first aquired wasn't it :(,
it's been a little rocky along the way for sure, glad it's greening up :)

this was 12 months ago, still with moss all up the trunk and just showing signs of health.

Cool tree, but I don't know about that V shape on the left. Maybe one of those trunks should be jinned.

Maybe one of them could be wedged apart but I don't know whether I would jin the thing. It would be straight and need to have some movement or the jined trunk would look out of place without movement. If you are going to that amount of labor I would suggest splitting them apart----Carefully,------- and then bring the left most trunk more virticle at the end/top after bending the whole trunk down it down to the left.

There's No sneaking one past your keen eye @PiñonJ , haha.
I think my heart just skipped a few beats when you said Jin out the Tree lol, I do agree with you wholeheartedly about the visual "v"
and thank you for bringing it up.

@Vance Wood , I am uncertain if the raft/group would benefit visually by having a Trunk leaning too far to the Left , rather it may
do more to "highlight" a different "v" type arrangement between the 2 main Trunks. hmm not sure it could go alright.

it's actually my fault I guess, this planting angle/direction is a little off I think . It is just a visual thing at the moment,
the 2 Trunks are not as close as they may appear and a rotation of planting angle/direction will probably correct it.
Give me some time to organize a picture to show the relationship between Trunks and then see what you guys think.
Definitely have me thinking about it now, so I appreciate that and the advice :),

Thanks for taking the time to make a video.

I think once you style it...the V won't look as bad..

Besides...it must look way better in person...as it does in the video.

Nice.

here is a small vid of the raft, thanks for all the input.

Thanks for doing the Video. It is surprising how much you miss with just a simple photogrph and how much you gain with the video. I think the V becomes a non problem by simply changing the front of the design. The Photo gave the impression that the V was created by one tree with a V fork. Obviously this is not true. You need to design the tree from a point of view where this does not become an issue.
