I just recently purchased a pink pearl bougainvillea...love the bougainvilleas! Thanks for sharing...love the roots on yours. Yet to see mine bloom but think they area beautiful in bloom.
Hi Ed, the red one in the china pot is barely styled as an informal upright at the moment, but that cultivar has a tendency to cascade more than others, so it's probably going to end up being pruned that way in the future. It's the only Hot Tomato bougainvillea I have, so I'm letting that one grow out a bit, then I can propagate some of the pruned branches. I actually have a smallish cutting that's taken root, hoping it continues to grow. The cutting was really thin, but I tried sticking 4 pruned branches into some soil, and one is beginning to take off. BTW, there's a pic of that same bonsai in full flower in my albums. You can see it in my profile page.
The pink one is probably my favorite. I saved it from the brink of death a few months ago when I realized something was attacking the roots, so I hit it with some insecticide and fungicide and it came back. This is the first time it's flowered since that crisis I love the roots on it as well, thanks for stopping by!
