Six inch colanders are available from gourmet cooking stores, and are expensive. WalMart in the past has carried 8" colanders, for two to three dollars.
My preference is for the 10" variety. Get them at the Dollar Store for a dollar each. Work quite well. Have been using colanders for 10 years. They do tend to deteriorate from the sun light, after five or six years. Dollar General also carries 10" for about 2-3 dollars.
