My entry is this American Hornbeam. Bought it at Meehan's Miniatures, October 16th. Planning on a broom or informal upright, but we'll see what the tree is planning. Doing absolutely nothing with it until an early spring repot and trunk chop

That appears to be pretty neat texture on the base-bark!

Nice!

Can I see it closer?

It seems like it's almost got some vertical veining going on. Definitely a lot of good potential for strong nebari

I was just at Meehans. Love all the variety. If you don't mind can you take a close up of the buds and trunk? I have a mystery tree Im trying to identify, I believe its an American Hornbeam. Looks similar to yours but I wanted to look closer just to see. I believe I'm going to use that a my entry in the Native plant/pot as well. Im sure it will get chopped at some point but I may also try to air layer it as well.

Thanks in advance!
