5yr native tree challenge. Long Island Black Locus

Dug this from my parents yard this April 2022. Sprouting shoots from everywhere. Excited to see where it goes.

Any updates? I'm out on the island as well and was tempted to yamadori a black locust. There's a spot by me that one can basically find a black locust in any size. Thorns kinda discouraged me.

Hey. Sorry for the delay. Been busy. Locus did amazing. Grew like a weed true to form. Had to trim a couple of times this summer and fall. Looking forward to next year. The thorns(as you know) only appear on new growth and I think the bark looks great even on young trees. Good luck.

Any pictures? These trees grow like weeds, so there’s gotta be a lot of new growth since collection.
