Chopped and repotted.. Ready for another year. In 2022 the stumps will be reduced once more buds pop low.

Nice!

My eyes are doing alot of “sketching”..

That front stump... will it’s EVENTUAL orientation be towards the left at all?

What is YOUR vision for the more slender stump?

(We always end up in these type discussions this time of year.. I love it!)

Do not have one. This is one which I grabbed for the contest, not because it "spoke" to me. It helps that I like the species. I'll see where I end up once I really start thinking design come spring. Might still remove all up to the lowest buds and develop from there!

That’s what I’d do as well...

Although I DO like the double visual pull/angle to the right..

I’d try to build AROUND that..

But I’d “first bud” MOST..

This is a very interesting specimen, I think you should “play” to that weird personality.

Changes.. and adapting.. seem to make that REEEAL dark bark develop earlier with native Prunus I see around here.

Especially Dune Prunus..

Sand-Dunus!?

🤦🏽‍♂️

Very nice!!! I have a younger mother/daughter Prunus (what I believe to be) Virginians/Avium cross, that reminds me of this specimen of yours.

I had a question about your potentilla, from the other thread 🤓.. basically just WHICH potentilla you work with...

I started fruticosa last year..

And have some experience with Indica or the mock strawberry.

Did a bit of a cleanup. The very wet sunless spring has not been pleasant and this one is complaining about it.
Its still alive I suppose.
