11th floor Common Juniper

Hello, this is how it looks when mother nature does things instead of me... After the bad winter one live vein (half of the tree) died. Fortunately one is still pushing and twice as fast... I've removed one branch out of a new shape and the dead parts, it was in spring. Now, next year of unrestricted growth and some light pruning and wiring in fall. Will deal with deadwood later. But somehow I like this tree more now.

Thanks Dennis. I was considering its reduction, but not so soon.:D Yes, I might follow pic. 1 as a front.

I'm not sure this one is going somewhere. It was a green ball, so I did some fall works, branch selection, wiring, pruning. Will play with deadwood next season.

Also cleaned and wired this little guy, shohin size... One of two containerized (not collected)common junies survived, same procedures, same care.

...many branches left just for now and for a while.

This is the second tree I worked on today. Just some deadwood cleaning.

And yes, I've adjusted few branches and the top will be moves slightly to the right. 2019 or 2020 for repotting into smaller round pot.

Both look nice, I like how you saved it when the first one had a die off.
Anyway, communis are bastards, they might as well just one day decide and half will die. Strange plants...

Hmmm plants dont just decide to die off there is always something that causes the plant to throw off parts

Thanks and believe me this is not my first one. ?

Today I took an advantage of the second flush of growth and played a little with this one. I needed to comb it somehow, so some pruning, wiring and placing of new growth... I'm pretty satisfied with a season this one is having.

Next spring would be good for repotting, thinking about a round or lotos pot but I think that one on the picture is too shallow.

I like this tree, I JUST learned they have the largest distribution of any woody plant on earth. I have them here in my part of America same exact species. pretty cool
