“Lowe’s-Adori” 75% Off, Excursion

LOL...

I guess this might be an open-ended question and it might be personal preference, but...
Once I see the buds start to swell and it's time to "WHACK" 'em down to size, approximately how high from the ground should they be cut to?

I'll even buy a nice, fresh, clean saw to "take care of them". ;) :D

Thanks Again Everyone,
BB
All depends on the base, size, rootage, wherr the graft union is, how clean it is, can you work with it. Is it high enough that you can cut just under it and grow out the root stock, is it real low and can be hidden by scarring it, can you cut just just above it and hope for the right bud to pop. And hide it that way... I do know crabs will pop buds quite easily from a trunk chop. Evem if you don't see any nodes or dormant buds. Better get a few and conduct some tests, maybe save one and make some air layers, graft free trees are always better

Nice Ben.

I'm not hating on buying plants.

But.....

Today...
Tween sales calls....

Look for bigger trunks.

Everything has potential...
But the idea is to rape the nursery for EVERY ounce of potential.

The box...and it seems the crepes too....

Out of a hundred....
One will have a single bigger trunk.

That's the one to POSSIBLY buy.

I love it!

If you have a bench full of really good specimens, that is one thing. If you don't have anything, and lack the confidence to spend a couple three hundred on bonsai nursery pre-bonsai, and not kill it in 10 days...those Lowes-adori 75% look mighty inviting!

Thank you.
I have the confidence, time and money, but I WANT to learn CORRECTLY.

So...
Hold my beer, and watch this! ;) :D LOL...

SCORE!
I just scored 4 Crabbys and 2 Doggies, at a “whopping” $5 each! I’m happy, and hopefully my trees will be too!

Man I LOVE this place!!!

I’ll have to look closer, but I believe they’re in 5 1/2 gallon pots.
