    Old Boxwood - Need Help

Thanks for he reply I bought it from a gentleman about 8 years ago. He said it was around 30 years old maybe more. He had been growing it in a large pot for quite a while specifically with bonsai in mind. I planned on cutting it down to around 15-20 inches. The tree as it stands now is...

    The 'early days' progress thread

Here is my entry Corkbark Chinese Elm. Going to get in to a slightly larger pot and just let it grow for a while and thicken this bad boy up then chop it back hard and start over.

    Juniper styling/input

Thanks for the welcome back! I will take a shot of the other side had a large branch growing out of the main trunk which I removed most of but would leave either a jin or pruning mark right in front of the tree. The 6 years of wild growth will also be fun with the 10 trees I had planted in...

    Suggestion on two elms

I think the second elm you have is a 'jacqueline hillier'? If I was you and you had the ability I would choose a leader and let it grow in the ground for a few years. This is what I did with mine 2 years ago and it is thickening up nicely and growing like crazy.

    60 year old Juniper P. nana's

So the needle foliage will become not needle like anymore and become smooth? I thought it stayed like that, thanks Ed.

    Scale-leaf Conifer Identification

I think that prickly foliage is considered to be juvenile foliage. Junipers tend to create that kind of foliage sometimes. I don't know if it is because of stress or not enough light....which I guess would be a form of stress.

    Unknown tree with huge trunk.

Here is the virt I did and a better look at the trunk if anyone wants to give it a go. Didn't but any leaves on because it just gets to messy. Moved it 12 degrees counter clockwise as well. Thanks for looking, Aaron Edit : Just for a size reference that is a 15 gallon pot it is in.

Awesome, so if I ever run outta soap I know where to go. Thanks for the comments. I am hoping I can get this thing down to size and in training here pretty soon. It has back budded super low on the trunk about 20 shoots coming out about 3 inches above the soil. The leaves are pretty small...

Hello, I was walking around a local nursery here and saw this guy tucked in the corner with no price and no name. Has a pretty nice size trunk and some movement so I went for it. It was only 20 bucks so I figured what the hell. The lady said it had been taken out of the ground last year and...
