Ok boys and girls, I have found what I think is the absolute best watering nozzle for bonsai watering. It screws right on the end of my Dramm wand as shown in the picture. I have the one with the thumb control off and on feature which I really like. When turn on full blast, as in the pictures, the water seems to pulsate and is really gentle and does not wash particles, produces a good amount of water and DOES NOT dribble all the time. I got it from Gemplers, Item # G41566, and is 1" in diameter. I have been looking for a nozzle like this for a long time.

@Maiden69 was talking about this water breaker in this thread

As I mentioned there, I tried the Dramm RedHead but wasn’t satisfied for smaller trees. I have been using a Melnor water breaker that’s a bit better.

Thanks for sharing a link to this, I couldn’t find a place to buy one before. I may check it out and see if I can hold off buying a Japanese one.

I bought mine at Zoro. Gemplers always have a lower price, but their shipping charges always made it more expensive than Zoro. Since then Zoro raise the price to $23, but with only $5 shipping I think it is still cheaper. I bought it with the 36"DRAMM wand, still at $5 shipping.

Don't... In my opinion you can get better control with the Japanese wand, especially the one that @rockm linked to in that other thread. This DRAMM is great, but it will disturb the top soil if you don't control the flow to the minimum. The Japanese wands are the best for shohin and seedlings. The DRAMM is better for bigger trees and trees in nursery pots, where you really need to flood the container.

Thank you for posting this. I have one of these I have had probably over 20 years. I have not been able to find another like it. It has outlasted many others including the red head.

I’ll have to pick one up. I have a Jonathan Roth wand that I like but doesn’t feel nearly as durable as my Dramm handles.

Quality for the money. And ease of acquisition. I use Dramm . Products . General purpose . 36 wand with 1000 hole breaker . Second 24 wand with fogger nozzle . ( great for foliage and ultimate seedling soft spray small pot system ) the small diameter breaker is also usefull . But honest I just use the 1000. I have found a often overlooked variable. Is the rest of the delivery system . ( mine be more sensitive as the small town I live in has slightly lower water pressure sometimes ) essentially you want large diameter hoses and valves. Check inside diameter . Water shut off valve , at the exterior of the house is 1/4 turn ball valve not a screw tap ( highly restricted ) next is 5/8 inch inside diameter hose . Last is a 5/8 light weight 10 foot header hose . Last is the wand . No valve at the wand . Water pressure is not the only variable. You will find a difference in a high volume low flow restriction system . The header hose no valve at wand and light long wand . Is about comfort and a pleasant watering experience . As the sun 🌞 is coming up . Plus have back up wand and nozzle at the ready for fast change if needed . Things to avoid cheap plastic parts . Especially valves . Wand valve rose combo that can’t disassemble . For cleaning . And restrictive water flow parts . If I was to use a valve at the wand . I would assemble it myself from a high flow 1/4 turn ball valve . But a light high flow wand is a delight . Also using the same system year to year . ( that parts are avail to replace ) results in consistency. And better watering
