Beautiful tree! And a wonderful progression
You’ve inspired me to perhaps try one again.
I’ve been trying these for 4 years now, and every time I feel like I’m getting somewhere with them they go and die back major branches or die completely on me.

I feel that perhaps letting them run wild during the growing season is key?
Thanks for sharing.

I’m not certain on the die-back. I know that they do not respond well to typical deciduous pruning/pinching in my experience…

It only really pushes growth once in the spring.
