Just thought I'd share this (likely Chinese) Hackberry stump that I was able to collect this past fall. I potted it up and did some very mild wiring to start repositioning most of the branches (that angle is because this came from a hillside/slope). Looking forward to seeing how this grows this coming Spring.

Goal number one is of course just health. I'll see what recovery and growth look like in the spring - collection was a bit rough but I think it should be in good shape. I'm stuck on that initial trunk chop - if it had only been a couple inches higher this would be great for a short fat broom - that was my first visualizaton. I might see if there's a way to work toward that, if not then it'll be clump (barring anything unforeseen).
