The Atlanta Bonsai Society Spring Show 2016

The Spring Show is being held this weekend at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Unlike in previous years, we were given the use of a much larger room in the center of the gardens. Unfortunately, the lighting was mediocre at best, so I apologize for the poorly lit iphone photos. We'll start with a few shots of the general display and the vendors...if you squint, you can see Suthin standing in front of the vendor area...and yes, that's Adair doing a wiring demo. He started at 9 am, it's 8:30 pm, and I don't think he's stopped yet.

In order, a very nice, old JBP
Adair Martin's shimpaku, awarded Best in Show
A nice Western juniper
My old Rocky Mountain Juniper...didn't know it was going into the show until Suthin told me it was at 6 pm last night

One more Japanese maple, and the shohin displays. That's Adair's display with the exposed root JRP and root over rock Trident maple that took home the ribbon.

That raft was one of my favorites...just a few tweaks and it would be outstanding.

Nice displays for all. Fresno Exhibit was today, I couldn't make it. My next door neighbor had rotator surgery and I had to mow both lawns today. Thanks for the bonsai relief!

It's my chojubai quince on a nice red wood burl slab that's a bit too big. I'll snap a pic today.
