Bill Valavanis recently posted information on facebook and his blog about the upcoming 5th U.S. National Bonsai Exhibition, to be held September 10-11 in Rochester. In addition to his blog post (http://valavanisbonsaiblog.com/2016/01/03/5th-us-national-bonsai-exhibition/) there is a new website devoted to the exhibition: http://www.usnationalbonsai.com/

This year will feature an expanded demonstration schedule and also a number of critiques...check it out!

I'm sure Bill will be providing updates as things progress. Hope to see some of you there! Great way to spend a weekend.

Chris

I am getting excited...just wish it wasn't more than 1000 miles away.

From the time the last one ended that I did not go to I've been saying "next year we are going" to my wife. I'm really hoping to attend this year but it all comes down to coordinating work schedules and getting someone to watch my kids. I really hope not to miss it again.

if I were going direct from home it would be 815...the last two events I had to go to Asheville first so that puts it much closer to the 1k

Good news! It's only 687 miles from me. I would imagine its similiar for you!
Does that mean you only have to stop 4 times to charge the Tesla? How long does that take just out of curiosity?

About 330 miles for me. Heck that could be just a long day trip with enough coffee.

Oh man.... I'm not drunk enough yet to start quoting more of the worst songs that I rocked out to in my youth. ...

Probably more stops than that.

There's a trip planner function in the car, I'll go see what it says.

One thing... It's faster to NOT fully charge it at the Superchargers, rather just charge enough to get to the next one. The car charges fast when the battery is low, and slowly when it's close to being full. So, 2 10 minute charges on a low battery puts on more miles than a single 20 minute charge.

Give me a minute, and I'll see what the routing software says.

Are you talking about an electric car?

I think I'm going to get one that runs off of old Veg oil.... I'm going to check my trip planer to see were all the fast food joints are at ... I'll get back to you guys toooo..

JohnG,

Here's the routing the car gave me:

It starts me off going somewhat the wrong way taking me through Knoxville. I would think going up through Ashville would be better. But maybe there's not a Supercharger to go north from Ashville yet. The network is still under construction. And the software is still considered "beta".

But, yeah, going that way is close to 1000 miles!

You can ride with me Adair. ... save you half the drive....

Ah, I see the problem. Pennsylvania doesn't have a Supercharger, yet, to connect the more direct route. But there's one under construction. So it will be there by next September.
