That one in the 90s where the woman sued McDonald's for the coffee being too hot? Learned while researching it for a PR class in college that it was totally legit. She got rear-ended in the parking lot, the coffee went over, and she got 2nd degree burns from navel to kneecaps, including the places they tell you curling irons shouldn't go.😬

Still doesn't answer the curling iron question, though.🤔

Yea I heard about this too. Also heard that apparently they had set the coffee at that temperature to keep people from drinking it too fast and getting a refill.

Possibly. Didn't find anything to that effect, at least that I recall now days, but it's not uncommon practice in the restaurant industry to make things just uncomfortable enough to get patrons to come and go quickly.

im a ford dealership auto tech for a living . My bosses 1928 model A ford has a owners manual that tells you how to maintain the engine . Including how to disassemble and adjust the valve train , a 2024 owners manual tells you not to drink the fluid in the battery . I stand by my statement
This is not due to the stupidity level of humans, there have always been idiots. This is the result of an overly litigious society. Every company has a massive legal department that makes sure the company is protected from dumb lawsuits and they have to put these warnings on things as legal protection. They're not really warnings for users they're liability waivers.

They were also warned and received complaints from other customers about the coffee being way too hot before and they got ignored. The lady in question also was only asking for medical expenses to be reimbursed. Totally not a frivolous case whatsoever. I definitely would’ve sued too if I were her.

Anyway, here’s my latest bonsai related purchase. 95$ for this little thang

What's it made of? At $95 I suspect it's carved stone of some sort.

He's been sending 1 gal bags as of mid-last year. The only ones I have received in the big bags were the custom mix. I think he may have created too many 1 gal and they were taking too much space. I think I received 6 gals of Monto and 6 gals of Bonsai Block in 1 gal bags last year. I just received the 7.5 gals monto/bonsai block.

His pine bark is decent, I used it a while back before going all inorganic, but I think there are too many fines at once in a while. Orchiata, while more expensive is a better quality bark.
If you haven't tried BJs Douglas Fir bark yet you should give it a whirl. Zero dust, precise sizing and gorgeous colour. Plus it outlasts pine bark. So I use them blended at .50 : .50 to make up one part in my mix.

Club sale today. Got 28 plants in total, inclusive of the 20 A. palmatum seedlings in that pot. I’m set for root grafting stock, and maybe a forest and clump taboot!

Also got 2 nice little Prunus incisa ‘Kojo no mai’ and a great selection of satsuki azalea whips from @Deep Sea Diver .

A cheap $69 electric weed eater because my Stihl weed eater won’t start. I didn’t want to hunt for carburetor part and then trying the repair on a weekend. I bought the weed eater, got the job done quick so I can get back on my bonsai trees.

My manager bonus and my birthday weekend lined up perfectly with me getting a severe sinus infection so instead of partying with my friends I did what any rational newly 38 year old with lots of snot and pain would do. Bought a bunch of bonsai pots.
This one arrived today made by David George who posts on 99 cent bonsai Facebook group
