I picked up this Crape Myrtle from Johng a few years back. I have been playing around with the planting angle for while. I'm looking for a penjing style. At first I put it on a rock but was not satisfied with the angle. This year I took it off the rock and managed to find the correct angle using a wedge under the soil. I changed the pot to a deeper rectangle to complement the round base. Moving forward I plan to reduce some of the trunks that need better taper.Screenshot_20200823-160414_Gallery.jpg20230119_081644.jpgView attachment 536572

Very nice transformation of difficult material, I could see the tallest right trunk being shorter allowing the trunks over the base to become the apex

looking good JohnnyD! I'm glad it gave you some challenge:)
