If you live in the middle Atlantic states (DMV, NC, Del., NJ, Pa.) now is about the time to look for wisteria blooms in the woods to track back to trunks. This monster is in bloom this morning on the retaining/sound wall on the exit to 95 S from the Capitol Beltway here in N. Virginia. Couldn't get a great shot of it because it's right next to the heavily traveled road, but it's HUGE. If you look carefully at the center bottom of the photo, you can juuust see the roof of a passing SUV.

I'd like to find where this one originates, because the trunk is likely very large.

NY too! At least southern NY
We have them here as colonizers along roads.
They aren't quite blooming yet though, but should be soon!

I've been glaring at the one I have. I keep it to fill a space on my landing area outside. It allows it to grow wild. But it takes up commodity in my greenhouse. That's where I dislike it.
