A wheelbarrow full with unknown Azalea

What you lose with no Nebari you will gain in the drama of all that twisted branching. The negative space in red is the biggest issue you'll have to deal with in my opinion. You may want to lose that branch in yellow at some point in the future because it is really pulling the eye to that area and it doesn't have the same taper and movement as most of the others. Again, it's only my opinion based of the image. This tree really has some great potential!

I'm totally with this use all the trunks semi quasi Fredman broom flowering forest of twisted wickedness....

That negative space just needs a reason IMO....

If this is planted to the right of a slab that stretches left beyond those branches....
That negative space is going to be useful!

I'm gonna refrain from cussing....
But you can open the book and scream all of them twice in each language for the record!

I wouldn't lose any trunks.
Just start building that canopy up where Vin has it...

Dope!

Here a picture of one of the flowers.

I left a few flowerbuds to discover the color.
So seems to be a 'lilac' shade. I was hoping for rosy color but I guess 'lilac' is ok.

Remarks :
1) I seem to have the tread-titel wrong!
My specimen seems to have 10 stamens, which indicates it is not Azalea sub species.
Probably Rhododendron lepidoot family. A Rhododendron species with small leaves like Azelea.

2) The plant seems to have had (or still has?) a insect infestation: See the small lighter color point on the leaves..?
I found no insects on the plant today..?
Any idea of the cause of the problem And Treatement..??

As to your infestation suspicion. The quick (and economical) answer is a pack of cigarettes.Make an infusion(6 cigs to a quart of water:let stand overnight).Strain and load a sprayer. We need a windless day:as with all insecticides, don't get any on ya and keep pets away.Drench the plant, not forgetting the undersides of leaves. If there is any left over pour the excess into the soil.
Nicotine sulfate is the commercial mixture. That stuff is deadly. One drop on your skin...well it is not good. But the nicotine tea compound chemical is not sulfate and several orders less poisonous. It will, however, scramble the wee brains of most soft bodied insects(neurotoxin).Whitefly, aphids, nematodes, leafminer, caterpillars etc.It will be gone in 24 hours. As I know this will be contentious to some,I suggest you google it for yourself and then decide.

Nebari will come as you replace soil, and then wash it away by watering over the next few years.

And that is why neonicotinoids are soon to be banned from the civilized world:eek:. Would suggest insecticidal soap in consideration of other living things, Especially honey bees. Please.

I am not interested in presenting anything more than the difference between the composition of "nicotine tea" ,or infusion and neonicinoids as used in many insecticides.Perhaps some on this forum might check their BAYER products. It has been a major offender world wide.I have used the tea a total of twice in the last eight months, for very specific reasons. Not interested in a pissing match here, despite the avatar.

me neither...but it was just obvious that the author of that post is as full of crap, or piss, as all the folks here...

What would happen if you just smoked the 6 cigs and blew the smoke onto the plant?

Well.......

You know what they bring the tobacco back from the fields in.....

Wheelbarrows!

Update 21/04/2016

The Rhodo is doing great, new growth is pushing.
I did an initial styling with some guy wires.
At the place where I dug it up the tree was somewhat squeezed between other plants, i pulled the canopy open with the guy wires.
So now light and air comes into the bush and it's also easier this way to develop the foliage pads.

I just suspect these wires will have to stay on for a (very)long time for the branches to set.
