    Silverbell (damage tree turned bonsai??)

Any chance you could plant this in the ground to speed up recovery? That will help also when you are ready to do the chop as well.

Makes me want to break a pot and send it to you… I wish I had done a better job on the one I did several years ago. The joinery turned out well but the glue and technique (or lack thereof) made the glue bulge out of the cracks a bit. This is beautiful. I always get excited when I see a new...

Much fuller this year and flowering well. It's a snail for growth, but is starting to fill in nicely. Not quite at peak yet.

    New Korean Hornbeam

This is wonderful, I am just now catching it for the first time, wow! I love KH, they are really my favorite. Leaf size is always nice, they grow slow but steady, and the twig branch formation really lends itself to clip and grow for the most part. I currently have 4... Super nice...

    Best online bonsai pot suppliers/makers?

There are some nice pots usually on FB bonsai auctions site each week. I second Matt O on ebay, he's always been a good source, and good pricing for me if I want a Japanese pot. NelSon over on FB also has a good batch to sell on occasion.

In regards to hornbeams (Korean) you can defoliate them if they are in good health. Just make sure to do it in the window after hardening, and before the solstice. If you do it later, they may not leaf out until the following spring. I never defoliate Beech, I use the Harrington article...

From bonsai pot back to organic soil?

if its a one time 7-8 months, I'd vote for leaving in the current situation and working out a good watering system. If it may happen over winter, then it will be more difficult than summer. There are also places that do tree boarding during winter so that may be an option.

So beautiful this art form to me. I don't think I'd like silver though, but I've never seen it used.
