Thought it would be interesting and insightful to have a thread of interesting or not interesting bugs you find on your bonsai or tree’s you see in the wild. Harmful or not harmful to the tree’s.

Saw this what I’m almost 100% sure is an imperial moth caterpillar on a Bald Cypress that I collect cones from. Freaked me out because I almost walked directly into it.

It's not exactly a bug, but I have this nice picture of the spider that protects my red maple from pests.

I've also got one or two in both of my junipers. The one in my procumbens is a really beautiful brown spider who likes to hide in crotches.

Not trees, but a big moth is my Passion fruit vine, creeper caterpillar, and a teeny tiny mantis.

Spotted this Aphid Lion (Green Lacewing) carrying his victims around my Ficus Too Little a couple years back. Pretty gruesome!

Still unknown to me critter on my Azalea. Anyone know? Was dozens of them hiding under branches. 1/8 inch

I don't know what this is, but found it on a water oak. I didn't notice any harm to the tree and left it alone.

Milkweed assassin. Good bug eats aphids and such.

It looks similar but I dont think so as we dont have Milkweed over the pond here in Britain or Europe!
I think its a Black and Yellow Longhorn Beetle, native to Europe and Britain.

Looks the same to me.

Booklice usually feed on molds, fungi, grains, insect fragments, and other starchy material, including glue from bookbindings.

I love seeing spiders on my trees. I always feel bad disturbing them if I'm doing significant work to a tree.
