Only got this Japanese larch a week ago, noticed some of the needles yellowing, any idea why. Kept it shaded for first x2 days after it was shipped and then moved to somewhere where it gets the atfternoon sun. Only watering when the soil is nearly dry.
Never had a larch before so I dunno… maybe the shipping weakened it? All the other trees I’ve had shipped have been fine and it was a 24 hr shipment

Sunburn and sunburn means your larch was to dry. They are realy thirsty in hot weather and only way larch coolthemselves is if they got enough water.
Never dry out larch.

And put moss on soil!! That way larch will be more happier

Agree that this larch looks sunburned/dried out.
Also agree on the not letting them dry out. Larch are bog trees.
Mine are in a spot that gets a few hours of morning sun and afternoon shade.
