Hello, I'm interested in a semi/pre finished Chaenomeles bonsai stock. A larger to medium sized tree with decent caliper and a decent branch structure would be ideal (I know this is asking a lot). I'm not too worried about the flowering differences in the various specific species.

I've read through the older 'WTB Chojubai' threads and have looked into those various suggestions and links to no avail. I've found it suprisingly hard to track down a nice tree with caliper thicker than a pencil. I have only seen a handful of Quinces in Michigan and I quickly took home the only decent one I've seen (Japanese quince), all the others were cuttings (suprising since MI is the perfect climate for a Quince..). I'm waiting to hear back on one lead I've found (with Brent at Evergreen) and ill be attending a bonsai auction next weekend in the hopes there's a decent Quince kicking around.

Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated folks!!

Was curious to see if you ever found that Japanese quince you were looking for. I love my quinces and thought it kinda Cool that you posted on my birthdate last year.....

My poor white chojubai are being played with, with the weather. It warms they pop bllooms, it freezes and they brown off...:( Anxious to have spring come this year, kinda fearful that some may not have made it because of the constant change and severity....

I've never been able to find a nice appricot as the earliest to bloom each year, but quince seems to come second so that's still an encouragement that there is hope for an end to winter.
