Missed out on one of the FB auction groups and am looking for one. Pretty hard to find…

What size of American Elms are you looking for?
I have a few. Conversation message me. Perhaps we can talk further.

Get some seeds.
Grow your own.
You'll be shocked at how fast they grow.
This might be heresy but I dislike growing from seed. I just find that it takes too long to get to a point where I find excitement in the development stage of a bonsai. Even if a tree is fast growing, I wouldn’t mind paying more to get a shortcut to get to that stage.

If there’s any around in Texas you can airlayer an interesting branch very quickly! 1-2 months, and your read to seperate it.

Thanks for the recommendation, I unfortunately live in suburbia so not much fascinating growth nearby and I don’t think my neighbors will appreciate it haha. I’d like to someday collect native trees around me and absolutely air layer some good stuff.

Thanks for all the help, I should have something this week!

You'd be surprised how much your neighbors would appreciate it if you offer $50 to air layer a branch.
