Wood Filler - Water Based Or Solvent?

i'm going to buy some wood filler to fill a few gaps in my mulberry. is water-based better or solvent?

I use Durham's water putty based on recommendation of Kathy Shaner. It is powder that you mix with water (3:1 ratio) but can be adjusted to your needs.

check, and see if it is plaster of paris.

I tested the solvent type on the finicky one, Fukien tea, and it gave no problems. Will let you know with time how it weathers.

Definitely not.

Before you guys get too deep in to solvents just remember water is known as the universal solvent. More is soluble in water than any other solvent.
