I have some tridents and JMs and elms. I plan to put them in the ground. I will be away for 2 months, mid-December to mid-Feb. Would there be any need for watering in that time span, or can they be fine without any care? I live in Zone 6.

Thanks.

If they're in the ground they'll be fine.

water the plants when you put them in the ground at first. Then cover the area them with an inch of regular shredded hardwood mulch. That insures they have adequate moisture. Hope it rains/snows. I don't know about your area, but here in Va. we're in the midst of a drought. There are areas creeping up into Pa that are experiencing abnormally dry conditions. There hasn't been all that much rainfall. A little caution might be in order.
