What kind of juniper? (Not critical but helpful)
Where are you? (You can add your general region in your profile to help us give you the best answers for your climate)
What kind of space do you have available for bonsai (indoors and outdoors; no need to be specific. Just amount of space, sun/wind exposure.)
Typically, if the species grows outside in the landscape, it should stay outside year-round, usually on the ground for younger or recently repotted bonsai, possibly with a mulch layer over the pot to protect the roots. Generally speaking, a bonsai is cold hearty about 1 or 2 growing zones warmer than wherever you are. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Junipers are outdoors trees. (Even if one lives on the NAm Arctic tundra, if it’s juniperus communis) So plan on keeping it outside out of direct sunlight and wind. Most folks put their trees down on the ground, or mulched in on the ground (with good drainage).

junipers should generally be outdoors at all times, and most seem to have root hardiness down to less than 20 Fahrenheit (per temp chart in book Bonsai Heresy), even if it gets colder than that, you would only want to put it in the garage overnight or for a couple days until the temps let up a little
