What is the + that I see after certain members names

Okay...I have been noticing a + behind a few members names when they are online. Curious what it means. Because when I have sent them a PM the + isn't there when I address it to be sent.

Not earth shattering...but...I am a bit curious.

It means they are on your "friends list"
