Water For Real. Resorce

I went away for a week recently. For the first time in a long time, had a great vacation.

Didn't worry about my trees cuz I tucked them all under this...

Cheaper versions of these products...plastic not brass blah..under about $80 w/ batteries.Capture+_2018-08-04-04-58-17.png

Set for 25 minutes at 5am and 5pm.

Came home to find out how much I sucked for 8 years watering.....

Everything had roots out the baskets.

I always watered twice a day.....
But the length of time....
The deep deep soak......

Tremendous difference.

Aha for grow out.

Aha for refinement.

Are you going to keep it as is @sorce, save yourself a bit of time for other stuff? Seems to have worked well and not the usual horror story of them failing and you returning to crispy plants!

I believe the plants are aware of lengthy "rains" and purposely grow more roots at the time, almost solely to take advantage of the current amount of water.

Exponential health benefits if everyday..

I cut that elm like I said may not have been a good idea...ala Smoke aka Nannermouth..

But I believe this...simple nore lengthy watering...
Make this ok...

Not fert not wet soil....

A lot of watering...

Which has nothing to do with more airy 02.

Just water.
Transpiration.
And what to do with excess water..
Use it!

We are way more wasteful than plants!

hmmmm. I'll just tuck that under my hat for now

There's been a few trees that I thought I was watering thoroughly, but then I pulled out a weed and the soil that came out with it was bone dry. And sometimes this was right after watering.

I do think that people get scared into under-watering trees and I think many of my trees were chronically under-watered (and under fertilized too) when I first started.

Good to hear you went on vacation! Everyone needs a recharge now and then. Just to play devils advocate were the roots running away from too much water? ?
In my situation the plant growth was amazing. It was 90+ degrees many days, full sun and nothing missed a beat.

Okay, Sorce,

for the time you were gone - temp, rain, humidity - sunshine ?
Good Day

Supposedly rained good the weekend I left..but been dry since.

Proximity to the ground and the cool grass helped I'm sure. Huddled.
But too long and fungus will get me.

The temps...humidity likely 80-176%.Capture+_2018-08-04-13-59-14.png

I thought that too!

My plants know it's going to pour at 5:00 in the afternoon every day.
All this is in WP article. Watering heavily in modern substrates is key to great growth.

Do you mind linking me to that article?

Now Sorce,

ask yourself, more water or closer to a wet surface [ the earth]
or both ?
Next when you offer more water see if the fungus and bugs
increase.
Good Day
