I originally carved out the front out of this bald cypress in early spring. I wanted to wait to see if it would live before doing further refinement. Just like a bald cypress it took the punishment and grew great all summer. Today I carved it much deeper and did some detail carving its hard to tell in 2d. What you can see is the difference adding black ink into the lime sulfur made. Hope you enjoy. I have been working on this guy for two years. Originally a 12 foot tall nursery tree. I had to start over with the canopy this year after ripping it off accidentally. This takes some punishment. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Nice start, I think if you took a wire brush to the burnt part it would give it a more aged look.
