We had an extended holiday travel this year. I intentionally left some snow cover on my greenhouse roof to slow down heat buildup on sunny days. A lot of snow while we were gone. The heat-thaw cycles formed an ice dam at the edge. Water trickled down the doorframe and refroze leaving 2" of ice at the doorway. After a lot of chipping, that ice is clear but the door is still frozen shut. May take a hot air blow dryer to the door frame when this snow storm abates. Other than a hammer, any other good ideas out there?

Oh you just have to have a dab of a little April or May... that'll free it up a bit.

The way the winter storms are lined up here, I maybe digging out my trees in July!

A hair dryer should work.
A salamander type of heater would also work but there is a risk of burning the door.

Agree that is probably an overkill. Aluminum frame and glass. I'm guessing the fiberglass screen will flame off first.

They do Grimmy, I do have a few temperate that may need water at some point.

@sorce, How big do you think the hole should be for me to squeeze thru too? (Careful..that's a loaded question.)

loaded question

As long as the question is all that is loaded.....

It's winter so, same size, didn't know you were a vegan.....

Doesn't the glass make it a little more formal, but still creepy....?

You'll need an emery cloth....

Why did you lock your apprentice in there?

Careful....I think that answer is a little more loaded (with assumption), than the question!

Must be winter!

Ok, read your response, then reread my last post. Seems you found more in there than the guy who actually wrote it. I appear to have done a great job of catching myself with the question. Ummm..is it too late for me to delete this thread and crawl under a rock somewhere?:p

No worries!
Its winter and I know you don't have an apprentice!
As long as you are a vegan there is absolutely nothing weird going on!
