Weeping Japanese Red pine

Hello, wondering if anyone has tried or seen a Weeping Japanese Red pine used as a bonsai. Have found a couple at a local nursery that have some age, and a thick trunk to them. Just concerned about the length of the foliage and if they can be shortened.

To me it would not be a good choice to use as a bonsai simply because of it’s habbits to hang, a picture of the tree could tell more.
I would look for a ordinarry JRP. Pine bonsai mostly have their needles pointing upward.

Thanks for the picture and inspiration, a great tree! I one I saw has great bark and age to it, just never heard of these before nor as a bonsai. Hopefully will send pics once I get back there. Cheers
