No, they are leaf eaters and related to grasshoppers.

There is a preditory subfamily of katydids not common though and they look different https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saginae

Many katydids are carnivorous or eat both plants and insects. The Saginae eat large prey but many feed on small caterpillars, aphids and things like that.

That's cool. I love entomology. It was my favorite college course.
I didn't know about these carnivorous katydid critters. The ones I studied here are leaf eaters.
When I raised bearded dragons, katydids were lizard candy.
