Hi Stacy.. hmmm.. This is the typical problem san jose.. There are a bunch of these at the nursery..However, the ones at the nursery have pretty nice trunks. However, they have branches are too thick and out of scale or they are in all the wrong places. Also, the terrible foliage.

I am not sure about this tree. I like your virt a lot. Might be the only way to go. Normally, I can come up with something. However, upon looking at the pictures, I do not see many, if any, alternatives to your virt. Unless you are into grafting.
