Urban foundation planting my guess is Sargenti, after 40 yrs+ and has been in mature foliage for the past 4 or so yrs.

Very nice tree, do you have any historic photos of it?

I would like to see this tree replanted in a semi-formal rectangle, perhaps a bit lower such that the jin on the left is at soil level.

That is definitely a thought as this pot is now too small for the tree. I do have and will dig….

I've found a few not quite as early as I'd like they were on 35mm and I hope I transfered all to digital.....
