UPDATE: My Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree [CA to NC_29-SEP-2023]
Thanks for all the assistance thus far from this group of experts for my new Chinese Elm bonsai tree! Just to groom it a bit, I raked the top soil and cleaned the pot top edge [nicely] , as well as checked water content in this newly arrived bonsai tree pot - and it is wet! [see images of the moisture meter I just purchased showing - 0 to 10 - in one second after inserted in pot soil - near root ball]. I did consider keeping my Chinese Elm bonsai indoors near my desk. However, after repeated shout outs here and in other spaces that this tree is - meant - to be outdoors - I can do that. This Chinese Elm bonsai will not stay at window sill area next to my desk. Rather, I will let it sit at the window for a few days, or maybe a week [would like to see some new growth. The leaves look healthy, but appear are tiny in some places] - Will be permanently stationed in the sunroom this Sun. - where temperatures will average 45 degrees through December. Nice to have the temperature rarely falls below 32 degrees F here in the Piedmont/Eastern North Carolina region - But, as I have read, this Chinese Elm bonsai prefers four seasons - with winter leaves falling - and should enjoy our moderate Carolina chill.
Cheers!
