... so, this is a spin-off of what was/is a credible "tools and techniques" thread for treating or creating deadwood on your bonsai... this one, not so much.
Please understand that this is intended as a "study group" with the tongue planted firmly in the cheek. And while it "might" prove to be an effective solution/treatment for some trees, I, in no way take responsibility for the dumb-assed ideas that you might think up, and... possibly employ.
Foreword:
So, while driving back from the "big city" today I was thinking about the upcoming workload in store this spring and how I could possibly do all the things I hope to accomplish within the spring bud.
One of the tasks at hand will be a very small amount of carving/treatment to a few long-to-develop prospects... then it dawned on me... "What if"!
"What if", a feller loaded up a shotgun, a high powered rifle, a massive cherry bomb, or some other home-made incendiary device to instantly prune or treat your deadwood on an unknowing prospect, then leave it to naturally weather for many years?
There are a few criteria that I think you have to fall under before you can become a contributor (active contributor that is... speculators need only have the proper mindset to take part), so please be sure that you tick at least one of these boxes before pulling the trigger, or lighting the fuse...
1. You MUST have at least 10% red-neck blood or breeding in the last 5 generations.
2. You MUST be "aware" of the local laws before striking out... however, adhering to them is another matter all together, and totally your responsibility.
3. You must NOT try your first experiment on your "Blue Ribbon" winning bonsai.
4. You MUST NOT blame me for what will likely become a really stupid action on your part, no matter how much good intent you started into this event with.
Feed-back is welcomed, but please, no tears.
