I like the stain. Stain tends to hold up better over time in my experience vs. a clear/poly coating. Matintence is easier as well, just a light recoat every couple years vs stripping and having to refinish every 5 or so years with a clear coat. Plus I really like how dark that turned out on your floor,

Well...I do like darker stain...we tapped and scuffed it with a sander. Just distressed it a bit. I like it much better than the original dark stain. It looked to new.

being in an indoor enclosure...and with a clear coat. Would it need a recoat?

Probably, your going to be dealing with higher humidity and higher foot traffic being indoors so it might require more than average maintainence

Well it will add to the character I guess. Wishing for aged distressed look. I don't see much use/foot traffic of a cold greenhouse in the winter...with trees being dormant and watered less frequently. But warmer weather it will get more use when I do work on my trees.

It'll distress on it's own, no need to hurry the process.

It's the "new trend" for example...I plan on putting on brown finishing wax on my baking table I got for the room. I don't wish it to look "new". Though it will be.

I like the dark stain. And I like how your repurposed desk turned out. I love the color.
