Since...my Bougainvillea "isn't" a water type...and land and water isn't a natural setting...I am back at looking at just pots. Here are a few that caught my eye...I have also a photo of it when it was in bloom...wanting a larger pot to beef up the trunk of this bougie.

Any suggestions or advice on choosing a good fitting pot would be appreciated.

Lotus or something round in my opinion. I like the cream colored although the light blue pots look great in contrast to the bougie blooms as well

I like this one. image.jpg. The style your tree is in now a round pot would look nice. I recently got this off eBay for about $30.

I had never seen one like it so I had to grab. I love the feet. This seller on eBay still has more of this one for sale as well as other round pots.

I found a lotus...and an oval in a shade of green. Even though it isn't the shade in my room while the weather is changing. This will complement it when outdoors blooming. I am not having success with round pots that I like. If I like them...they are to shallow for my existing root system on my bonsai. Unless...I make it raised in the centered with soil like a hill.

If I go with an oval or oblong pot I would plant it to the left of the pot and not directly in the center...since it is a slant style and not an upright.

I like the blue shades of the last pictures you put. If you want a round pot I would suggest getting a handmade pot from a potter like Paul Katich of Bellota pots, or chuck Iker as their round pots are pretty inexpensive for the quality.

If you are looking to add girth, you are going to want a much larger pot than the ones you are suggesting though.

I do too... love the color of that last pot. As for size...it is currently in a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 pot. I was told

Well, you don't want a BIG pot. That will hold too much water, even with a drainage hole. I'd suggest something half again a large as whatever it came in. You should be able to put it into a larger pot at any time since you won't be damaging any roots.

So I am assuming nothing larger than 6 inches. Which is the size of those pots...minus a few inches in width since they aren't perfectly round.
