Tiibee's 6 year JBP contest entry

I just found out about this contest. Must have missed it somehow (busy fall). I ordered my seeds today (1/1/18), from treeseeds.com, 25 ct.

I have two that I started from seed in 2010, so I will apply what I learned from personal growing experience and through outside teachings over the years.

I received my seeds from treeseeds. I soaked about 30 on 1/8 and they all sunk. Today (1/9) I placed about 20 in wet sphag and into the fridge. Tomorrow I will put the rest in a wet paper towel.

2/15/18 - Out of the fridge and into the medium. Two plastic training pots with regular soil, topped with akadama/pumice fines. 15 seeds in each pot covered with akadama fines, in a humidity tray/dome, with a heat mat underneath.

2/25/18 - after 10 days, 9 of 15 sprouted from the sphag bunch (left) and 6 of 15 sprouted from the paper towel group (right). More are pushing up and are either late bloomers or were a little deeper in the soil.
