Hello, similar to my post of my semi cascade, wondering your thoughts and opinions/ideas on this. I worked off of nursery stock, did this in a couple of hours today.

Apex at top/end of trunk follows direction of the trunk/base that exits the soil surface below (for balance).

Excellent beginning. I’d try to keep more of those roots buried while you’re developing the tree. At some point in development you’ll likely need to thin out the individual pods of growth.

I'm just glad that its not a cascade! Next time, start the thick wire anchored in the soil. Next steps are adding deadwood (small/thin at first and then add to it over the years) and laying out pads. I think I'd foster as much growth as possible this summer. Preserve growing tips to drive development.

Great point. Yea I cut my wire a bit short…rookie mistake, so I wrapped it around the trunk. I like the idea of brining the top over to match the angle of the bottom portion of the trunk. But otherwise I’ll let it sit and hopefully survive

I like it a lot. I'd be curious to see how it would look with a block under the right side, tilting it about 10-15 degrees. This would take the lower section further off vertical, and have the current crown finish above the base.

Great idea! I’ll play with angles
