Hehehe...not sure about it's name...in the years I've bought a lot of tools (of course some cheap from China at the beginning), in the latest years all from Japanese manufacturers, don't remember the provenience of that one. what I know for sure Is what I will ask as gift for Christmas....
 
I have a large pair that looks exactly the same.
Somewhere on Kaneshin website there's recommendation to only cut branches that are less than half the size of the cutter jaws. That's not very big, even for these large cutters.
 
After bending a few budget tools, I have a rule.
If you need both hands to make the cut, then the branch is too thick. Use another tool

But this is not your case, its the fault of the branch 🤣
