This was sold to me as a "Thai" Boxwood, to be cared for as a tropical. As far as I can tell, and as far as google has shown me, there isn't a species of boxwood commonly referred to as "Thai". Can anyone provide me with a proper identification?

Might just be missing a few letters from the common name.
Try Buxus harlandii which I know as Taiwan boxwood aka Chinese boxwood. The corky bark is distinctive and the small leaves suit smaller sized bonsai.
