I have some small Tamarind trees which have ended up as stalks ( just a stick poking out of the ground ) it's coming up spring now .What's the best way to make these recover ?

Give it time. My tamarinds lost all their leaves last winter as well. They were spindly sticks 12" long and didn't show any sign of growth until mid spring. Then they got going in a hurry and grew 2 ft this past summer.
Just make sure the soil is not soggy. They have no leaves now and have little demand for water, excessive watering will just rot the roots so just keep the soil moist.

Thanks , it's the same thing with Curry leaf tree they turn into a stick and then mid spring jump into life .
