Quick question. I was growing a tamarind from a seed. It had grown to about 3" tall and still had the cotyledons (seed leaves) on the stem and also had just leafed out...the entire tree was very tender (no lignification). I accidentally reached across and knocked the entire top off including the large seed leaves. So now, there is ONLY a stem.
Will it regrow leaves from this point, or is it futile and time to trash it?

Depends on whether there are nodes left on the tree. If you broke the stem below the seed then it is typically a goner. Else there is a chance it regrows. Lots of light and warmth

No, not down to the seed (or root). There is still about a 2" stem. I guess I'll just wait and see. Thanks.

It doesn’t hurt to wait but I am pretty sure it is a goner.
