Hi all,

The owner of this pine meant he was sure it is a pinus sylvestris.

I really doubt it and think it is actually a Mugo? What do you think?

Best regards
Julio

Based on my experience, the needles of the sylvestris are much softer and finer, as well as the branchlets.

Mugo doesn't bark up until it's been in a pot for a long time.
But based on the needle scars on the branches, and the roundness of those branches, I'd say it's a mugo.

Yes, I thought the same. It has been in a pot for a really long time, but I also it’s too much bark for a mugo, but branches and needle definitely looks like mugo
