I noticed that the website has a pop-out saying Temporarily not taking orders and it’s been a few days. Anyone know what happened to them.

Been getting that message for a couple of weeks now. Don't know what's happened though.

Andy posted in response to a similar post on facebook that they'd be available to take orders soon. He gave a date that I don't remember the specifics of.

<edit> (3 days ago) "we will likely be taking orders again next week." <-- Found it </edit>

Great to hear! Probably doing an inventory audit or some like that

Yeah I saw them at Nationals with a very robust presence and inventory, so was a bit surprised when I saw that message. I’d imagine it had to do with standard business practices and was a needed break.

Sometimes I feel like companies like Amazon, Walmart etc. have ruined our mentality and expectations for all businesses and companies, especially those that operate online. I know I’ve been guilty of this.

Still not taking orders… hopefully they open with a big sale!

Well, I just got an email from them today advertising their "going out of business sale", so...
They just sent out an email saying they are going out of business, 33% off site

If that's the case, its horrible timing for the business as I can imagine now would be the time where people would order bonsai stuff as gifts for their love ones.

Yes it is horrible timing, I feel bad for them and their employees. I depended on this site for getting the pots I need at a reasonable price. But it's true, go to the website and you'll see it. I have to admit I have been frustrated with their supply issues for a couple years now and them just not being able to recover from it.

After covid and their purchase of their Florida property things went downhill. I'm not surprised by this. Damn shame though, as I used to buy a lot of stuff from them.

It is a shame, I didn't buy a lot, but I do have some things from them and I will forever appreciate them

Feels like a lot of folks are gone, no more Sumo as far as I can tell, no website for Cali Bonsai, etc.

First we heard about it was two weeks ago when Mauro Stemburger told us at a workshop as he’d just found out they weren’t ordering more of his multipurpose carving tool…. Figured everyone back east already knew it and we were last to know.

Sadly
