Styling advice for Kinzu

I was supposed to repot it into a smaller slightly shallower pot but when I saw the big taproot directly below the trunk I decided to just trim the taproot instead of chopping it to make it flush with the trunk. This was also repotted at an angle.

Could you guys give me some advice on styling/pruning. I’m a bit unsure if i should cut the branches going directly straight to the sky…

My plan is to grow it out to thicken the trunk and I know putting it in a bonsai pot is counterintuitive so I definitely will repot it next year in a better container suitable for growing.

Last pics are how I got it and sorry I forgot to take picture of the taproot time was of the essence lol.

Also I know my wiring isn’t the best lol…
