Stoned...

Here’s what, so far, ended up being personally satisfactory enough to end up on my “greenware table”.. I am pushing on.. and I have some Others drying, as well.

I still want that planter and the little shack you have there on the left.
I want to suggest something, but only consider it if it pleases you. I love your little shacks very much, they have a distinct American or West European flair. You might consider making a few things with more of an Asian flair. It is probably a broader market on this forum. I personally would love to have a fairly good sized stone ruins structure ( about 6"tall and maybe 8 or 10 " long) in the style of Angkor Watt to grow a ficus over. I am sure I could accomplish this, but you have a flair for it and I would be happy to buy one from you. I am sure others here would as well.
You are pretty wordly for a young dude so I know you have seen pictures of the ficus growing over stone ruins.

My next two “sessions”, I plan on doing mostly structures..

I love the idea and will DEFINITELY attempt that style/era soon!

I’d also REALLY like to try monasteries/temples... just that.. the scale I’d LIKE to “detail” these works at, would end up being ENORMOUS still! 🤣🤣🤣

I’ll have to figure it out.

@sorce , if you think that’s a groovy idea, I will start messin’ with that porcelain.

@penumbra , the little structure had build-induced structural problems.. buuut I will be throwing similar shacks and sheds soon, and I shall consider which ever you like (if any ;) ) yours.

The ravine planting had a foot/leg “come off”.. aaaand then I broke off a corner of the whole shebang when trying to mend the situation...

But I learned much about the bizarre construction methods behind throwing those-style pieces.. so my experimentation has just begun...

Perhaps wood “stands” for the more extreme-angled plantings would be good, @ShadyStump ?.. something to mull over..

Either way.. I’m confident my next planting/forest tray/pot will lack the issues present in the pile of clay formerly known as “Ravine”.

🤓
So far I'm only really confident in my ability to make spoons. 😜
I expect to know more about my ability to make clay tools soon. ;) Honest helpful critiques only! Flattery pisses me off.

If a stand was going to be a thing, it'd have to be custom built for each piece, or else a stand built and a piece built around it. As far as the virtues of wood vs ceramic, ceramic will weather seasons better than wood or any combination, so that, I feel, should be your goal.

HOWEVER, a modular structure you can use build forms for your clay might be a possibility. 🤔

Hehe!! I’m super excited to take them for a spin.

I was also considering a nulti-leveled/use/faceted apparatus for the form.. but had no idea on how to go about.. I will sketch something soon.

That's what I was thinking too. Just wondering if you'd do just as well buying a set of tinker toys for the purpose is all.

I really need to find and watch some clay working/pottery videos or something so I can a better idea what your needs would be.

Actually on the larger side, comparatively of my structures.
I was working at a different scale than (one of the several) I normally do, also.FA03FD38-9EC3-4CB6-A457-2FDFE7C0B682.jpeg
Pretty much done now, except for dry work. :)

(Whoops! Structure is out of focus!)

Cool
I can’t wait to see what you posted tomorrow
Thank you!!

I’ve figured out how to, at least at this time, incorporate more clay “building” time into my routine.. I assume this has something to do with the Cold.. but I shall not question it until it stops yielding results. 🤣
