I have found that I can get good results growing cuttings in the Fall on my Sun Porch after I bring in all of my Tropical plants.
Pure sifted perlite works best for me it sterile and holds a lot of moisture.
I use a box cutter with a new blade to cut the bottom straight across and then scallop cut around the edge before dipping it in Clonex gel.
A heating mat with a thermostat speeds up the process.
