Hmm, you made me check the RP seeds out and they are about half the size of the Tropica ones. I will post a pic over the weekend.
Tropica are pretty good for an amazon vendor, I have never had any problems with other species from them so fingers crossed for these.

Others just toss a bunch of seeds in a bag.

That's what I got from TreeSeeds. To their credit I ordered 50 and got about three times that. If I spent the time to sort out the biggest I'm sure it would still be 50+ good seeds.

It probably doesn't show so well in the picture but definitely the seeds on the bottom seem much bigger and uniform.

I guess tomorrow I will throw some in the fridge and soak a few others overnight and get started. Might hold some back too for a month or so.

So a bit lazy but finally got around to soaking some seed.

On the left are the RP seeds, pack of 10 had 14 in it so 7 went in the jar.
On the right are the Tropica seeds, pack of 40 had 51 in so 25 went for a swim.

I will put the sinkers in the fridge and maybe try the other half in a month or two with just a soaking and no fridge.

OK so 5 of the RP seeds are in the fridge with two floaters and 19 of the Tropica are in the fridge, I counted 5 floaters and think I lost a seed down the drain too. It is also entirely possible that I miscounted originally.

Going to find somewhere to plant out the floaters just for kicks.

Ok, monkey see, monkey do.

My first batch only had 8 sprouters, I think the fridge time may have got a bit too damp. Dunno, it seems counter productive to me.

Still did 6 cuttings today and left 2 in the box for a bit more growth before either cutting them or not.

Will start a second batch of seeds soon too.

Only had the 2 floaters and sowed them anyway. Not bothering with the fridge this time. Or focus it would seem.

31 all up, filled the rest of the tray with various other seeds lying around and now have those tiny fibres all over my arms.

The last 2 seedlings from the first batch I potted up today, just cut the tap roots on them this time.
I also recycled the mix so if any other pines pop up they are likely JBP and I will document those as well.

Ughhh, the first lot of seedlings didn't make it.

So this is from the second batch and all I have left are potted up and pictured here. Never mind the ring ins.

To be honest I haven't given it any thought, I wasn't planning on doing anything really.

Although to be fair I only have one survivor as it is so if it even makes it to winter I will be happy.
